Chelation Therapy

What is Chelation Therapy?

Chelation Therapy is the process of removing toxic heavy metals from the bloodstream. Mercury, lead, and arsenic are just a few examples of the many metals our bodies absorb throughout our lives, causing harm as they build up.

In Chelation Therapy, chelating agents are injected into the bloodstream to chemically bond with heavy metals, and ultimately remove them from the body.

Why is there a need for Chelation Therapy?

For the last few centuries, the use of metals has significantly increased in our daily lives. From the auto industry to household appliances to new technology, metal constantly surrounds us and is being absorbed into our bodies. Just take a look at these examples:

  • Mercury – used in dental fillings.
  • Lead – used to be common in paint and gasoline and is still in diesel and jet fuel
  • Aluminum – covers our food (tin foil), holds our beverages (soda and sparkling water), and is even in our medicines (antacids).
  • Arsenic – can be found in drinking water, fish, meats, specialty glass, and more.
  • Nickel – receive exposure from coins, appliances, hair products, jewelry, buttons, chocolate, pipes, and many more products used regularly.

Heavy metals affect us on a daily basis and, over time, can become harmful.

What are the negative effects of heavy metals in the bloodstream?

High quantities of heavy metals in the body off-set homeostasis, the body’s desire for balance, causing problems in the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, skeletal system, and more.

Health issues that can benefit from Chelation Therapy include hypertension, cognitive decline, heart disease, muscle/joint pain, circulatory issues, and many more.

How does Chelation Therapy work?

The two chelating agents are Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (EDTA) and dimercaptopropane sulfonate (DMPS). They find heavy metals in the body, grab hold of them, and take them safely out of the body through the kidneys.

Chelation should be administered through IV Therapy as only five percent of the chelating agent is absorbed when taken orally.

Since the early 1950s, Chelation Therapy has been used to remove toxic heavy metals from the body. And with metals increasingly being a part of our lives each day, the need has never been greater.

What are the benefits?

Patients with cardiovascular issues use Chelation Therapy to reduce build up of calcium plaque in their arteries. Reducing build up also increases blood flow throughout the entire body, aiding those with circulatory problems.

Patients have also noticed the therapy helps with leg pain (when walking), memory loss, general cognitive processes, vision, and daily energy levels.
